New in 2022 and Beyond!
From the beginning, the Magic Valley Kid Market has wanted to provide business learning opportunities for children within our community. As part of our expansion in 2022, we added educational classes-taught by experienced personnel in our neighborhoods, as well as business tours that will happen throughout the year. We are so excited for these opportunities and hope they bring important information and fun experiences to your children. Here is a list of the events we have already hosted or are planning to host. Register for these events by clicking the green button at the bottom of the page.*
Upcoming Events:
In March, we will have a Business Planning class for children who want to learn more about the basics of prepping to start a business. Information will be coming soon.
On April 20th, we will be visiting Summit Dental to learn all about what it takes to become a dentist and how to create a successful practice and expansion.
Past Events:
Our first educational class was taught by Mashelle Barlow on March 31st at the Twin Falls Public Library and was titled "Business Planning 101." We had a great turn out and were impressed with the information they received during this class.
Our first business tour was put on by Samer Al Zohiry, at his place of business, My Ice Cream Roll, on April 16th. Children were able to hear how he has progressed through the business world and what it takes to be a successful business owner.
On May 17th Monica McCue, marketing expert for Rinard Media and owner of "Idaho Bucket List," did an amazing job teaching our kidpreneurs about logo creation, branding, possible social media handles and how to stand out. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us Monica!
We had the amazing opportunity to go to a local ceramics shop, Hands On, on June 7th. Owner, Ashley DuBois, talked to the participants about the financing she used to open her business, supply issues that she's faced during COVID and how she's overcoming small business hurdles. At the end of her presentation, everyone got to paint a small project and take a tour of the studio. It was a lot of fun!
On June 28th, there was a tour at Rinard Media, where social media marketing experts walked us through the business, what they do and each child got professional headshots. We had so much fun! Thank you so much for having us!
Other events this year include a food safety class, a basic tax prep class and a business tour to Redeemed Decor. Watch for more details as they become available.*
